19 September, 2014, Grand Prairie, Texas ~ Texas Arabian Racing got underway tonight at Lone Star Park where Deebel topped a field of seven to win the Arabian Allowance Race.
Seven horses went to the post for the 6 1/2 Furlong race with a purse of $8,500
Deebal (Burning Sand) was the first Arabian winner at Lone Star Park for the fall 2014 meet. After tracking the pace on the outside, jockey Luis Vivanco urged the 3-year old chestnut into the backstretch where he drew clear. The 2011 colt bred by Todd Moak, is out of Queen Kong, by Kong, and is a full brother to 2011 Darley Horse of the Year TM Fred Texas. Deebal is owned by Kalifa Mohammed Al Attiyah, and is trained by Jerenesto Torrez.
