28 August 2016, Brazil ~ On Saturday, 27 August at the Cidade Jardim race track in Sao Paulo, Brazil, the HARC supported Prize Etap showed the winning spirit of 4 year-old, Rhondo RACH.
The race challenge was taken up by six Arabians and was on turf over 1.000m (5 Furlongs) at the Jockey Club de São Paulo.
Marei RACH was the first out of the gate followed by Carmel AJR and Rayyan El Madan. Dropping into line, Rhondo RACH traveled in fourth close to the rail with Kazan RB in fifth and Papiro do Bom Viver following. In the stretch Rhondo RACH accelerated fighting for 1st position with stablemate Marei RACH and Rayyan El Madan. Papiro do Bom Viver was now running fourth with Carmel AJR and Kazan RB in the back of pack.
With a sprint to the finish, it was Rhondo RACH ridden by Matheus Quintana with one length advantage over second place, Marei RACH, making it a 1 and 2 for the breeder Rach Stud Agropecuária Ltda owned by Ricardo Jamil Saliba.
Also ran: Papiro do Bom Viver (3º), Kazan RB (4º) and Carmel AJR (5º).
The winning of Rhondo RACH proves the development of Arab races in Brazil, as the pedigree is Vaillant RACH X Rhondda RACH (by Gothos RACH). Vaillant RACH is the sire of the last two winners in São Paulo, Orchestra RACH (winner in July with a new Arab Record for 1.200m dirt at São Paulo), and now Rhondo RACH.
“It is very important to valorize new competitors in the races here in Brazil. All are watching the results and Rhondo RACH is a very good example,” said the delighted owner, Ricardo Jamil Saliba after the race. “Valiant RACH is proving to be a terrific stallion for Arab race horses in our country. Rhondo RACH’s mother, Rhonda RACH, also raced successfully here at Cidade Jardim.”
Lucas Quintana is the trainer for Rhondo RACH, that registered a win time of 1: 05:288 for the 1000m distance.
