6th World Arabian Horse Racing Conference Begins in Warsaw, Poland

Over 400 delegates representing 80 countries will take part in the Warsaw WAHRC

BannerConferencejpg (1)27 May 2015, Warsaw ~ One of the most important events in a packed calendar of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival is the annual World Arabian Horse Racing Conference (WAHRC) during which many aspects of Purebred Arabian racing comes under the scanner.

After the inaugural three-day conference in Abu Dhabi in 2010, the WAHRC has been held in The Hague, The Netherlands, in 2011; Berlin, Germany, in 2012; Toulouse, France, in 2013; London in the United Kingdom in 2014; and the Sixth edition will kick off in Warsaw, Poland, from Thursday, 28 May 2015.

Over 400 delegates representing 80 countries will take part in the Warsaw WAHRC. HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan said in his welcome message to the delegates, “The UAE has always been in the forefront of promoting the Purebred Arabian horse. The Arabian racing family is spread all over the globe and hence there are innumerable hurdles faced by the respective national organizations in finding a common ground.”

“Periodical meetings such as the WAHRC offer a great opportunity for communication and help to find solutions to many problems. Regular meetings, discussions, and exchange of expertise augur well for the future of Purebred Arabian racing,” continued HH Sheikh Mansoor.

HH Sheikh Sultan Bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Chairman, Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority said, “The last five editions of the WAHRC have ensured a better understanding of the problems facing the Arabian racing fraternity and progress has been steady. We hope this Sixth World Arabian Horse Racing Conference will take Purebred Arabian horse racing to the next level.”

Ms Lara Sawaya, Executive Director of the HH Sheikh Mansoor Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Global Arabian Horse Flat Racing Festival, Chairman of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA), Chairman of Ladies & Apprentice Racing Committees in the International Federation of Arabian Horse Racing Authorities (IFAHR) said the activities of the WAHRC from 28-30 May and the Arabian Racing Festival  to be run here on 31 May will all be telecast live on Yas TV with live streaming on www.sheikhmansoorfestival.com.

“On Thursday the three subjects on the WAHRC agenda are Breeding, Racing and Training, and Weight Loss Control. Friday the panel members will discuss Rules, Conditions & Regulations, Women in Racing, and the role of Media, PR & Communication.

“The General Assembly of the International Federation of Horse Racing Academies (IFHRA) will also be held on Friday evening, May 29, 2015,“ Ms Sawaya said.

The Future of Arabian Racing session will be followed by the WAHRC Workshop on Saturday, the third and final day of the Conference. On Sunday, the Arabian Racing Festival comprising the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Cup, the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak Ladies World Championship (IFAHR) and the HH Sheikha Fatima Bint Mubarak  Apprentice World Championship races will be held at the Sluzewiec racecourse in the Polish capital.
