February 21, 2014, Doha ~ The second day of the 23rd edition of the International Arabian Horse Show continued on Friday, February 20th. Winner of first place in the Mares 4-6 YO Class 7B was D’aajaa Al Naif (Al Adeed Al Shaqab x Mezan Al Rayyan) owned by Sh. Abdulla bin Khalid Al Thani.

The Qatar International Arabian Horse Show is part of the HH The Emir 23rd International Equestrian Sword Festival. QREC General Manager Sami Jassim Al Boenain inaugurated the eight-day Festival on Thursday evening in front of a packed gathering: “I have the pleasure to welcome you all to HH The Emir 23rd International Equestrian Sword Festival which is being held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani, the Emir of the State of Qatar.”D'aajaa Al Naif mares 4-6win-7454

“This year, the Festival acquires special significance as it features HH the Emir Trophies and Sword, making it the most valuable addition. It is the only Festival in the world that involves various equestrian events and disciplines over eight days,” he added.

 “The eight days include the Purebred Arabian Horse Show, the Straight Egyptian Arabian Horse Show and a range of international races, which culminate with HH The Emir Trophies and Sword Day. All such events are part of the ongoing efforts made to enhance our activities, maintain the remarkable standing of Qatar’s equestrian sport,” he concluded. winners-7466
